In the years since graduating from Emerson College in Boston with a BA in Theatre Studies Acting/Directing, I have found myself part of many adventurous theatrical endeavors.
With Brown Box Theatre Project, I have toured with multiple Shakespeare productions, performing in venues as far flung as Maryland, Delaware, and Queretaro, Mexico and as varied as public parks, an oceanside boardwalk, beaches, and churches. As is the case with outdoor theatre--set up and broken down for every performance--improvisation and flexibility were invaluable skills, which I was grateful to have the chance to sharpen!
Favorite projects include the Brown Box/Icaro Teatro collaboration No Soy Lo Que Soy, a bilingual devised piece based around the text of Othello and performed in Queretaro Mexico. Living with the rest of the American cast and collaborating with and enjoying the Mexican cast for a month in Queretaro, as well as soloing music written specifically for the piece, remain some of my most treasured experiences ever.
